Competition Details

In 2021, an inspiring Mental Health Awareness Poetry Competition was launched for students at *five secondary schools, based around the theme of “Hope”. Following its success, mental health campaign Just Talk has partnered with Goffs Churchgate Academy to expand the competition county-wide for 2022.

This year’s competition, which is for KS3 and KS4/Sixth Form students, will run from:

Wednesday 23 February 2022 - Friday 11 March 2022.

Please ask your students to write a poem with the title:

“The Gift of Kindness”

We hope you will encourage your students to take part in this year’s competition, and we’re really excited to read your school’s winning entry/ies!

A poster is available here (PPTX, 3.1mb) for you to add your contact details for entries and then print/share around your school/college.

Please select your best entries (maximum 2) from KS3, and/or your best entries (maximum 2) from KS4/sixth form, and send these to us at justtalk@hertfordshire.gov.uk no later than midnight on Friday 18 March, including the student’s name, year group and school/college.

A judging panel will then review all of the entries. Trophies and certificates will be awarded to the winning entry and two runners up in each category (KS3 and KS4/sixth form).
